Um...It's hot.

It's 106 degree's.

That is hot no matter who you are. Our house is staying at a manageable 82 degrees, however any exertion on our part (read: Packing) means we are pretty much uncomfortable unless we are laying prostrate on the floor with roomba 4-wheeling up over our backs.

I am so tired, and hot, and tired, and did I mention hot? I'm getting loopy, and laughing hysterically at toots, my dog, and generally anything that crosses my path. Is there such a thing as packing-crazy?

We had 3 showings on our house last weekend, and one today. One of the showings was a second look, and the person who came by today will probably come back this weekend for a second look. Our house is getting so empty it echos, and I am having a hard time deciding what to pack next. We are down to the bare minimum, really, and mostly just have stuff left to pack at the last minute. I'm really glad that I worked so hard in the attic a few weeks ago, since it is probably at least 120 degrees up there now.

We leave in 1 week, and hopefully we will be ready!!!

Just me and my robot....

I have been saving for a while now to buy an iRobot Roomba. If you don't know what they are, just go to youtube, type in roomba, and there are a ton of videos. They basically vacuum your house for you. Pretty cool when you have animals and a toddler! It is a total luxury item, which is why I have been hording all my fun money for a long time to get this, and it finally came today!!! I am super excited! Even better, it was my birthday yesterday, so it was a great, guilt free, fabulous birthday present to myself.

3 weeks!

We sold our van! We have a place to live in Kentucky! We are doing a lot of packing!

That's pretty much it, actually. I am training my replacement at work, and it is nice to contemplate leaving in 2.5 weeks. I never really liked my job, but it was good work and a steady paycheck, so I tried not to complain (much).

We had two showings on our house today, and one more tomorrow. I am prepping Elisha for moving by talking a lot about Kentucky, and flying in an airplane. He still seems pretty oblivious. When the packing starts to be a lot more noticeable (ie. his room) I'm sure he's going to get a little more concerned about what the heck is going on. We took down all the refrigerator magnets, and that was a cause for concern. He got over it pretty quickly, however.

The house is still for sale-and so is our van!

Our house has been on the market for 2 months and we have yet to have any offers. We have a few people looking, but mostly it is quite around here.
Up until about 5 days ago, our plans were for Dieter to go ahead to Kentucky, and when the house sold, I would follow. That would mean he rents a small place there, and I stay here with my job. After talking through about 10 different options, we have amended that plan.

We are going to go ahead and leave together and rent an apartment together until our house sells. This could be 3 months, this could be a year. A whole lot better than getting left behind, however.

We've found an apartment for a good price in a decent part of town, and we are just waiting to see if we are approved. Our dates are already set for leaving, however. We will rent the truck August 4th, and load it for 2 days and get the house clean. On August 5th, Elisha and I will hop a train to Seattle, and August 6th Dieter pulls out with the big truck and Sophie, towing our car. Dieters Mom and Dad are caravaning across the country with him, because they have a trailer. The plan is to stay at RV stops along the way.

Up in Seattle, Elisha and I will be hanging out with friends and saying goodbyes. Very early August 13th Elisha, Keoni and I will hop a plane to Louisville, KY, which is about an hour drive from Lexington.

Crazy, huh? Oh, by the way. If anybody needs a minivan, we have one for sale.

Here is the ad as it reads on Craigslist.
