Life is whizzing by

It's amazing how fast life goes. I sometimes feel like I can hardly catch my breath before we are galloping off on some new adventure. This month was an amazing month, with our first snow day right after Elisha's birthday, then a complete 180 the next week with 70-80 degree weather. Elisha turned 6, Dieter turned 39, and I turned a corner in my health...I hope! There have been somethings plaguing me, my ankles and feet for one, and my energy levels for another. I have found out I have a bone spurs on my ankles and plantar fasciitis as well, and have adjusted how I walk, what shoes I wear, and even how I stand. The pain has gone down about 75%, which is amazing. This means I can no longer run jog, and I need to limit my walks with Sophie to 2 miles. If we were walking on a dirt path, we could walk longer, but the cement really makes my feet hurt. The other issue (the energy one which has been an huge issue for over 6 years) I have come to the conclusion is a little thyroid deficiency. As soon as I addressed that, my energy shot up and a whole host of other symptoms have disappeared. I still need to give it some time to make sure this is really working, but for now I have enough energy to cook for my family, keep the house clean, and play with my son. That's all I ask for.

I have a new addiction, Pinterest. It is an website where you can have online, virtual pin boards. So instead of ripping pages out of magazines and having a million shortcuts on my computer of things that I want to try to do, recipes I want to cook, and places I want to see, I can keep everything in one place. It's awesome. I've tried about 10 things so far in the last couple of weeks, and I intend to try more. One of my favorites is making homemade whole wheat tortillas. I'm drooling just thinking about them. So easy, and so good.

Here are a few more pictures from Elisha's birthday party. I forgot my camera, so my neighbors took pictures for me. Elisha is such funny boy, and definitely has his own opinions about how he wants things. He wanted a bowling ball cake, Phineas and Ferb cups and napkins, and an angry birds balloon. I love that boy to bits!
Do you think he is happy?

We had a small birthday at home on his actual birthday. We got cupcakes from Gigi's cupcakes, where the frosting is as big as the cupcake.

Elisha has been talking about a Phineas and Ferb guitar for about 3 months. He was so excited to see this come out of the box.

Here is one of the snow day. We got 5 inches of snow! Sophie raced around like her tail was on fire. She loves snow very much.
